Which devices can I use with uPlay?
uPlay works on almost any device you already own. All you need is an internet connection and an IPTV app. But the choice of app actually matters quite a bit — the right app on the right device is the difference between a frustrating experience and a really great one.
Recommended apps by device
Apple – iPhone, iPad and Apple TV
The best IPTV experience on Apple devices comes from UHF. The app is built specifically for Apple's ecosystem and feels right at home — smooth navigation, Dolby Vision support and cloud-based playlists that sync across all your Apple devices.
| App | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| UHF | Recommended | Optimised for Apple, supports Dolby Vision and AirPlay |
| IPTVX | Alternative | Clean interface, great for iPad users |
Tips
UHF on Apple TV supports Dolby Vision and cloud playlists — your settings and favourites follow you across all your Apple devices automatically.
Android – Phones, TV boxes and Chromecast
On Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV, TiviMate is the obvious choice. Movies and series require TiviMate Premium, which is the app's own fee — see the TiviMate guide.
| App | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| TiviMate | Recommended | Best in class for Android, excellent EPG and recording |
| XCIPTV | Alternative | Fast and easy to get started with |
| Opus IPTV | Alternative | Good choice for simpler Android boxes |
Tips
Got an Nvidia Shield or another powerful Android TV box? TiviMate makes full use of the hardware and delivers an exceptionally smooth experience.
Samsung Smart TV (Tizen) and LG Smart TV (WebOS)
Built-in smart TV platforms have a more limited app selection compared to dedicated streaming boxes. It works, but if you want the best possible experience we recommend pairing your TV with an external box such as an Android TV box or Apple TV.
| Device | Recommended app | Alternative |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung (Tizen) | IBO Player | SmartOne IPTV |
| LG (WebOS) | IBO Player | SmartOne IPTV |
| Hisense / Toshiba (VIDAA) | SmartOne IPTV | – |
| Philips, Sony, TCL with Google TV | TiviMate | – |
| Philips with Titan OS | IBO Player, if it's in the store | An external device |

Varning
Smart TV platforms are updated infrequently and can have limited performance for 4K streaming. An external streaming box generally delivers a noticeably better experience.

Frequently asked questions
Live channels won't start, but movies and series work
Change the stream format in your app. Our servers stream live TV as MPEG-TS (.ts), not HLS (.m3u8). An app set to HLS shows an error – such as ERROR_CODE_IO_BAD_HTTP_STATUS or 403 – or a black screen as soon as a channel starts, while movies and series work as usual. This applies to all apps and devices, and it's why a channel can work in one app but not in another.
- TiviMate: Settings → Playlists → choose the playlist → Xtream Codes parameters, change the format to MPEG-TS and press Update playlist. See TiviMate Guide.
- Other apps: choose MPEG-TS or TS under Stream format, Output format or similar in the app's settings.
- M3U link: the link should end with
output=ts. If yours ends with something else, get the link under Login details on My uPlay and add it again.
Your account and details are correct – it's only the format that needs changing.
Why don't you recommend IPTV Smarters Pro anymore?
The app has disappeared and stopped working for most users. On smart TVs we recommend IBO Player instead, on Apple UHF and on Android TiviMate. Your uPlay credentials work in all three — only the app changes.
Can I watch in my browser?
Yes. Tap Watch now on your subscription's card on My uPlay. You'll find live TV, movies and series there, and the player is marked Experimental. It works on computers and on iPhone with iOS 17.1 or later, but not with MAG or TVIP accounts and not on PlayStation. Some titles can only be played in an app. Third-party websites that play M3U links don't work — the browser blocks them.
Can I use VLC?
VLC can only play the M3U link and has no Xtream Codes support, so it isn't suited to everyday viewing. Use IBO Player or Watch now in your browser.
Does AirPlay or casting to a TV work?
Generally speaking, AirPlay and casting don't work particularly well with IPTV. Live streaming involves a number of technical parameters that make casting unreliable. Our recommendation is to install an app directly on the device you want to watch on — this always gives the best result.
Can I use the same account across multiple apps and devices?
Yes, you can install uPlay on as many devices and apps as you like. However, you can only stream on one device at a time per subscription. To watch on several screens at once, add an extra connection.
One exception: if you connect a box using Web Portal (MAG), the account is locked to that box's MAC address and cannot be used on any other device. If you want to use both a box and your phone, connect the box over M3U or Xtream Codes instead. See the TVIP guide.
Summary
- Apple users: Go with UHF — it's worth it for the seamless experience within Apple's ecosystem
- Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV: TiviMate
- Smart TV owners: IBO Player — but consider an external streaming box for better performance
