Getting the most out of your IPTV experience with TiviMate
TiviMate is the app we recommend on Android TV, Google TV, Nvidia Shield and Fire TV. This guide covers installation, Premium and the things customers ask about most.
Getting started with TiviMate
Installation
- Android TV, Google TV and Nvidia Shield: install TiviMate IPTV Player from Google Play.
- Fire TV / Firestick: TiviMate isn't in Amazon's app store. Install the Downloader app from Amazon's store and turn on Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → Install unknown apps for Downloader. Open Downloader and enter the code 272483 (or the address tivimate.com/apk) – that's TiviMate's official installation file.
Newer Fire TV models
The Fire TV Stick 4K Select and newer Fire TV devices running Vega OS can't install apps from outside Amazon's store, so TiviMate can't be installed on them. You can see which system your device runs under Settings → My Fire TV → About. If that's the case, use a different device, such as a Google TV box.
Add your uPlay account
- Open TiviMate and choose Add playlist
- Choose Xtream Codes – not M3U
- Enter the server address, username and password from Login details on My uPlay
- Continue with Next – channels, TV guide, movies and series will load
The stream format should be MPEG-TS
Our servers stream live TV as MPEG-TS (.ts), not HLS (.m3u8). Under Settings → Playlists → choose the playlist → Xtream Codes parameters, check that the format is MPEG-TS. If it says HLS, no live channels will start, while movies and series still work.

TiviMate Premium
TiviMate has a free version and a paid Premium. TiviMate decides what requires Premium, and that changes between versions. Movies and series require Premium, as do recording, multiple playlists and catch-up, among other things. A Premium prompt always comes from the app – your uPlay subscription isn't affected, and uPlay works just as well in other apps.
Buying Premium: in TiviMate via Google Play, or at tivimate.com. On devices without Google Play (such as Fire TV), buy it through the TiviMate Companion app on an Android phone. One Premium account covers five devices.
Activating Premium on your TV: go to Settings → Unlock Premium → Next → Account and log in with your TiviMate account. Give the device a name and tap Activate.
Features
Catch-Up – watch after the fact
- Go to the channel
- Scroll backwards through the TV guide
- Choose the programme you want to watch
Catch-up requires the channel to have it – see How does Catch-Up work?.
Favourite channels
Hold down OK on a channel and choose Add to Favorites.
Search
Tap the magnifying glass at the top of the left-hand menu and type what you're looking for.
Parental controls
Go to Settings → Parental controls, choose a PIN code and which groups or channels should require it.
Hide groups
In the TV guide: press the menu button on your remote → Group options → Manage groups, and switch off the groups you don't want to see. Change the order with Manage positions.
Update the playlist
Settings → Playlists → choose the playlist → Update playlist. Do this if new channels, adult channels or a new content package aren't showing.
Frequently asked questions
Live channels won't start, but movies and series work
Change the stream format: Settings → Playlists → choose the playlist → Xtream Codes parameters, and change the format to MPEG-TS. Then press Update playlist and start the channel again.
Our servers stream live TV as MPEG-TS (.ts), not HLS (.m3u8). If TiviMate is set to HLS, the channels show an error – often ERROR_CODE_IO_BAD_HTTP_STATUS – while movies and series work. Switching decoder, re-adding the playlist or using a VPN won't help, and that's why the channels can work in another app with the same details. Your account is fine.
TiviMate is asking for an email and password – which account is that?
Your TiviMate account, for Premium – not uPlay. Our details are always a server address, username and password, never an email address. If you've forgotten the password for your TiviMate account: Forgot password? at tivimate.com.
I've bought Premium but it's locked on my TV / after reinstalling
Log in again under Settings → Unlock Premium → Next → Account. Choose your previous device in the list to restore the activation, or activate it as a new one. Remove devices you no longer use in TiviMate Companion or at tivimate.com.
The app says "your subscription is remaining X days" – is my uPlay expiring?
No. The message comes from TiviMate and refers to the app's Premium, usually a trial period. The date for your uPlay subscription is shown on the subscription's card on My uPlay.
Only "Delete playlist" can be selected
Multiple playlists require Premium. If you still have an old playlist from a previous provider: delete it and keep uPlay.
How do I change the server address?
Safest option: Settings → Playlists → choose the playlist → Delete playlist (at the bottom), then add uPlay again with Xtream Codes and the address from your account page. Your username and password stay the same. You may need to add your favourites again.
The TV guide shows the wrong times
First check that the device's date and time zone are correct in the device's own settings. Then update the TV guide under Settings → EPG → Update EPG. That's also where you set how many days back the guide is kept (Past days to keep EPG).
The TV guide doesn't update
Add your account with Xtream Codes and TiviMate fetches the guide itself – you shouldn't add any EPG address. If old EPG sources from a previous provider are still listed under Settings → EPG, remove them.
Can I lower the resolution?
No, each channel is broadcast in a set quality. Instead, choose the same channel in a lower-quality category, for example HD instead of RAW or 4K – see RAW vs. HD/4K. The buffer size under Settings → Playback smooths out short interruptions but doesn't help with a connection that's too slow.
"No app can perform this action" / the picture won't start
Choose TiviMate's built-in player under Settings → Playback. Also try switching the Video decoder between hardware and software there, and restart the app.
Does TiviMate work on regular Android phones?
TiviMate is made for TV. On your phone we recommend MYTVOnline+ or Opus IPTV – see App for Android Mobile.
Where are my recordings saved?
On the device's internal storage or a connected USB drive. One hour of HD takes roughly 3–5 GB.
