How to connect your uPlay account in IBO Player
IBO Player is the app we recommend on smart TVs such as Samsung and LG. You don't log in within the app itself – instead you add your uPlay account on IBO Player's website, and the app fetches it from there.
The right app for the right device
Step 1 – Install IBO Player
| Device | Where to find the app |
|---|---|
| Samsung TV | Samsung's app store – search for IBO Player |
| LG TV | LG Content Store |
| Windows / Mac | iboplayer.com/downloads |
Launch the app. The start screen shows a Mac Address and a Device Key. Write them down – you'll need them in the next step.
Several apps have almost the same name
The app stores carry several apps with similar names, such as IBO PRO TV, IBO Player Pro, Ib Player and IBO Player Pro VPRO. They have their own websites and are activated in other ways. This guide covers IBO Player, which is managed at iboplayer.com. If you've installed one of the others: add the playlist on the website shown on the app's start screen or in the app's store description – a playlist on the wrong website never shows up in the app.
Step 2 – Log in on IBO Player's website
- Open iboplayer.com in a browser on your computer or phone.
- Choose Manage Playlists.
- Enter the Mac Address and Device Key exactly as they appear on your TV, and copy the code into Captcha.
- Tap Login.
Step 3 – Add your uPlay account
- Choose Add XC Playlist. (XC is Xtream Codes – always use it when the app offers it.)
- Fill in:
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Playlist name | uPlay |
| Username | Your username |
| Password | Your password |
| Host | The server address |
| XMLTV EPG URL (Optional) | Leave empty – the TV guide comes along automatically |
- Tap Save.
- Restart the app on your TV. It fetches the playlist when it starts, so changes on the website only show up after a restart.
You'll find your username, password and server address on My uPlay under Login details – see Find your login credentials.
Does IBO Player cost anything?
IBO Player isn't our app. It has its own seven-day trial from installation, after which it's activated per device with IBO Player. The price is set by IBO Player and listed on their website. The fee goes to IBO Player and has nothing to do with your uPlay subscription.
Frequently asked questions
The app says "trial period expired" – has my uPlay run out?
No. It's IBO Player's own trial that has ended, not your uPlay subscription. The app needs to be activated with IBO Player to keep working on that device.
The captcha isn't accepted
Tap Refresh Captcha for a new code and enter it straight away. If it still doesn't work on your phone, try a computer or a different browser. The website is IBO Player's, not ours.
The website says the MAC address or Device Key is wrong
Copy both exactly as they appear on your TV right now.
- A MAC address only contains the digits 0–9 and the letters A–F – never the letter O, only the digit 0.
- A TV has two MAC addresses, one for WiFi and one for cable. If you've switched connection, the one shown on screen now is the one that counts.
- If you've installed an app with a similar name (see above), it belongs to a different website.
Can I change my Device Key?
Yes. Log in at iboplayer.com and choose Device Key → Reset Device Key. The new key is six digits.
What's the parental code (PIN)?
The default code is usually 0000. You change it at iboplayer.com under Parent PIN.
Where do I change the audio language or subtitles?
In the player, while the movie or episode is playing. If there's no Swedish track, the title doesn't have one – see Swedish subtitles.
No channels appear after I've added my account
Restart the app. Then check that the server address, username and password are exactly as on your account page, and that you chose Add XC Playlist. If your playlist is on a website other than iboplayer.com, your app comes from a different maker – see the box about apps with similar names.
I can't find IBO Player in my TV's app store
What's available in the Samsung and LG stores varies between countries and TV models. See App for LG/Samsung TV for what you can use instead.
Can I use the same uPlay account on several devices with IBO Player?
Yes, but each device has its own Mac Address and is activated separately. Remember that one uPlay subscription gives you one stream at a time – see Watching on several devices at once.
Does IBO Player work with an M3U link?
Yes, with Add Playlist on the website. Still, use Add XC Playlist (Xtream Codes) – that way the TV guide, movies and series come along automatically.
